there was a girl with a lanyard on in langa this morning that had three condoms attached to it
that made me upset for some reason, i don’t know why
it made me think about "gender responsibility", locational context, disease, domination, maybe even PRETENTION?
sometimes i don’t even think i’m whatever it takes enough of to use the word "pretentious"
you were wearing flats and he was wearing tennis shoes, i was wearing my only shoes i have here
collin told me about how he got mugged, a man cut his shirt in the back with a knife
he said he was so scared and it was weird to think about him ever being that scared because he seems so with it
but then i remind myself that no one is really with it, all that much
anyone who has ever heard the musical saw cannot really be all that with it
complaining about a terrible dj, is there a musician in the world who is with it?
i feel incredibly sorry for musicians who just don’t want to make music anymore, or share it
the jeff mangums of the world!
because the people they shared themselves with act like these people owe them something
like they have to give themselves to them, in a format you can hold in your hands
or a format you can hold in your ears
when you share some part of yourself with other people and they don’t hate it, then they start to have expectations
like they expect this person to continually give and give and give of themselves
to share everything that they do
but then if people do not like it, it is not the people’s fault, but the giver’s fault
fuck that!
this is the opposite of the attitude of music in lakewood
give what you can, and if someone likes it, then lovely, if not, no issue
they love you simply for giving
people change, giving impeccable things is not something anyone can do forever, was a thought playing in my brain
and i keep waiting for my favorite musicians to make an album i don’t like
just to prove to me that they are human!

but that it made you feel awkward

you said it was pretty and that i know how to take good pictures and you liked it but that it was hard to follow
i said it’s for me mostly but i also use it to subconsciously and consciously communicate things with other people
but these are not always things i am incredibly aware of until much later
and it is a way for me to keep track of my feelings
you showed me an incredibly beautiful picture of you that your ex girlfriend took
you said she took pictures too
you were sleeping on the floor and there was a large white cat near your head, i loved that picture, you said you used to love it
sitting in the house, neo wanted to see a slideshow of the photographs i have taken here so far
flipping through photographs of kitchen sinks and babies and garbage and grass and skies
she said, i have lived here my whole life and i have never seen photographs of langa like this
i said, what do you mean
she said, this is langa, exactly, sweetie, and laughed
that was one of the best feelings i have felt in a long time
