I miss my mother
As most adults
the luxury of time affords me to dwell on the good points
There are so many of those
That is why I miss mom
Mom was very affectionate when I was a child
I guess that is why I can be also
Better at giving than receiving though
Mom was a trooper
Encouraged me to be active in sports
I remember mom getting down on her stomach
On the carpet , at the country place to arm wrestle the kids when she was past 70 years of age
She would make them laugh
Then pounce and win
She had done the same to me 30 years earlier
Mom loved music
Specially jazz
She awakened in me the love of music
She bought me my first record
The Beatles " Cant buy me love "
She kept current till the end of her days
She went to rock concerts in her 70’s
Mom was an incredible cook
Out of my kitchen she would say …
She relegated my brother Paul and I to doing the dishes …
Caretaker wives later did like mom
Christiane et Francine
Cook up a storm
And were also affectionate
I am single ( For now ! )
and learning how to cook
I actually giggle like she did to herself when she had accomplished something good
My dad laughed at his own jokes
I do that to my dismay
So does my son Nicolas
We should giggle more !

My mom was a dog lover
Great dog trainer
I inherited Chico from her when she died suddenly on April 19th 2005 ( Cerebral Hemorrhage )
She had spoiled him …
Unlike her other dogs
I keep spoiling him too
He likes that
I have had Chico longer than mom now
Mom loved to read
Mom was very into fashion
Mom loved people
She had that gift of empathy
Of making you feel special
Specially my male friends
She also loved my wives and ex girlfriends too
All my friends loved her
And she loved them right back
I like to read
I like some people
And could brush up on fashion
:-)
I own 42 Hermes ties
But have two suits left
( Retired 7 years )
Mom complained of loneliness
She wanted to meet Benoit in the afterlife
He was my step dad and the love of her and my life
For someone in the end
Who complained of loneliness…
The church could hold 350 people
It was full
Artists
Poets
Business scions
friends ( hers , mine and my brother Paul’s as well as some of my children’s )
People from all walks of life that mom had touched
I hope to one day achieve that charm, charisma and common touch
I miss my mom …
Oh yes
The last time she saw me
5 days before she passed away
As I was getting ready to leave
She turned me around after I had given her her two kisses on the cheek
She hugged me, trembling a little
Worried about me
As she felt me then …
That was the first time and last time she ever had done that
I should have accepted her luncheon invitation instead of …
I miss my mom

Guy, you are blessed with a unique and loving spirit. Your description of your mother and your relationship with her is sublimely stated. Your words are touching and they make me feel as though I have missed out by not knowing your mother. However, you introduced her here with her picture in such a loving way that the life you shared together - the humor, admiration, love and respect is a wonderful story. The beautiful thing is you can speak openly about her, share her with us and we feel good like we have, after all, been included some way in your life (family) circle. God speed to your mom. What a fabulous woman she was, and obviously gave you a huge part of her heart and soul, cooking skills, music - all mixed with a good humor.
